A vital battle every second

Why your support is indispensable in Benin

Without a structured approach, students affected by albinism face formidable health and educational barriers.

Skin health

Melanomas & Burns

The absence of melanin exposes skin to severe damage from an early age, leading to cancers that can be prevented with simple SPF 50+ protection.

Educational barrier

Severe Low Vision

Albinism is accompanied by strabismus and very low visual acuity, marginalizing students without adapted magnifiers or notebooks.

Societal issue

Social Exclusion

A lack of information breeds outdated prejudices, limiting social development and job access for young adults.

Logistics problem

Product Shortage

Medical-grade sunscreens are virtually impossible to find locally, or imported at exorbitant rates for vulnerable families.

Impact in action

Our integrated intervention strategy

We activate three interconnected key levers to ensure health and break taboos.

Lifeline 1
Free sunscreen & checkups

Permanent Medical Support

Scheduled distribution of certified pediatric SPF 50+ sunscreen bottles and organization of quarterly skin screening consultations.

Lifeline 2
Overcoming visual impairment

Educational Inclusion Activated

Provision of high-quality UV-filtering sunglasses, ergonomic reading magnifiers, large-print notebooks, and wide-brimmed hats.

Lifeline 3
Civic advocacy and fighting prejudice

Community Awareness

Direct awareness training for teachers, parents, and the general public to bust the myths surrounding albinism in Benin.

Audit & traceability

The journey of your support

From general fundraising to applying sunscreen on the student in the classroom.

Step 01

Receipt & Tracking

Financial donations and sunscreen shipments are centralized in Benin, cataloged, and recorded in a publicly accessible inventory.

Step 02

Dermatological Audit

A volunteer dermatologist analyzes the clinical suitability of received sunscreens (SPF 50+ compliance, absence of allergen perfumes, etc.).

Step 03

School Delivery

Our coordinators physically transport stocks to identified schools and relay dispensaries in Porto-Novo, Cotonou, and the North.

Step 04

Sponsor Notifications

Each child receives named allocations registered in their health book, and follow-up images are sent to the contributors.
