Clinical Reality:Albinism is an inherited genetic condition characterised by a deficit or complete absence of melanin. It is a healthy variation of the human body that requires protection, not persecution.
« Albinism is contagious or the result of an ancestral divine punishment. »
Clinical Reality:This pigmentation anomaly is transmitted recessively through both carrier parents. It is in no way infectious and does not impair normal cognitive development.
Our school interventions step by step
The Visual Fatigue Test
Our partner nurses playfully test the vision of the whole class to eliminate stigmatisation of the albino pupil.
Mirror Awareness
Explanations on sunscreen and hat-wearing. Teachers learn to seat sensitive children facing the blackboard.
"Solar Allies" Workshop
We elect sentinel pupils in regular classes to watch over their albino classmates during recess facing the school zenith.
